The title is becoming increasingly distant for Milan as they seemed to have tailed away at the end of this season. This makes their fixture against Siena all the more important as they aim to regain any hope they have of lifting the Scudetto. They currently sit three points behind leaders Juventus, after late goals in their last two fixtures ensured four points from their last two games. Manager Massimiliano Allegri said of the title race: “As the weeks progress, our chances of winning the Scudetto become increasingly more difficult. But we are playing to win every game and we will do this until the end. Only then we shall see what happens.”

Juventus head to relegation bound Novara, the home side needing to prevent a defeat to avoid relegation. They currently sit 19th and eight points behind the safety of Genoa. Juventus look to remain unbeaten and emulate the Arsenal Invincibles of 2004, but also know three points are necessary to make sure of holding off Milan in the run in.

Third place Lazio visit Udinese. Their recent form has been poor but they still have an outside chance of qualifying for the Champions League with victory against the capital side. Lazio, currently holding the final Champions League qualification spot are three points ahead of Udinese, and only one point ahead of Napoli, who travel from the south of the country to visit an inconsistent Roma. Roma will be looking to move on from a 4-0 demolition against Juventus in midweek and hope to rekindle some form before the season close.

Inter Milan continue to boost their outside chances of qualification to Europe’s top competition as they take on bottom side Cesena at the San Siro. They are still unbeaten under interim coach Andrea Stramaccioni and are now level with Udinese on points. Mid tablers Atalanta would be able to ensure their safety with victory over Fiorentina who are the surprise strugglers of this season. With young star Jovetic still a doubt for Fiorentina they will have a stunted attack, but will still prove a threat as they battle their way away from the bottom of the league.

Elsewhere, it is the Sicilian derby as Palermo face off against Catania, and home side Palermo have taken just one point from four games at home recently, meaning manager Bortolo Mutti is under some pressure to come out victorious in this local derby. Cagliari are six points clear of the drop, and see Chievo visit their temporary home as they continue to have work done to their original home ground. The home side will look to ensure safety with a win.

Genoa, however, look for a rare win (their first in 13, to be precise), and know that they will likely drop into the bottom three for the first time all year if they lose at Bologna. They are only a single point clear of Lecce in 18th. Finally, Parma travel to Lecce and with both sides in form recently it is set to be an exciting prospect, with Lecce’s recent form almost dragging them away from what seemed certain relegation. Parma’s good form looks to keep them in the top half for this season, but know Lecce will provide a stern test.
