At this point in the season, we have quite a few huge Barclays Premier League match-ups, but this week we are going to take a look at a match-up that caught our attention, and will definitely catch the attention of all of our football bettors out there as well. We have a team in Fulham who is heading on the road to take on our current first place team Manchester City on Saturday, February 4th. It would be simple to say that since City is at the top that they’ll be simply dominant over this Fulham team right? Not so fast, because Fulham has shown that when they get it going on offense that they can be a tough team to play against. This game will kick off at 12:30pm EST on the 4th and will be played in Etihad Stadium.

While Manchester City is currently number one in the league with an impressive record of 17 wins, 3 draws, and only 2 losses, they are coming off of an elimination from the Carling Cup at the hands of Liverpool just this week. The team has a total of 54 points and a goal differential that is +42, which will scare almost any team in there in most situations. But while Manchester City is one of the best teams out there, they are also playing without one of their stronger strikers in Mario Balotelli, who is facing a four game ban for stamping on Tottenham’s Scott Parker. They will still put a strong lineup out on the pitch, but it will be interesting to see how Fulham adjusts to it.

Fulham on the other hand may not have numbers that blow you off the page, but they’ve played well recently. Fulham has an over record of 6 wins, 8 draws, and 8 losses, with 26 total points. Their goal differential is -3, which is actually better than Stoke City, who is currently in 8th place as well. Since December 26th though, Fulham has tied Chelsea, beaten Arsenal, beaten Newcastle, and tied Norwich. They only have one loss over their span of five premier league games, and a huge part of that has been the impressive play of American striker Clint Dempsey. Dempsey has had two hat-tricks in the past two weeks, and in total this season has nine goals and four assists. He could cause some problems for this Manchester City team if they aren’t careful, and he hopes to help Fulham sneak into Etihad Stadium to pull off a stunning upset.
