According to football news reports in Brazil, Santos striker Neymar is set to sign a deal to join Spanish giants Real Madrid with the move completing after the 2012 Olympics in a deal reported to be worth £40 million.

The 19 year old Brazilian wonderkid has been a target for a number of big European clubs, including Chelsea and Barcelona but after revealing that he wanted to stay in Brazil for another season, any summer transfer plans were denied and clubs were forced to alter their attention to other possible additions.

The reports have indicated that the deal is worth the full £40 million that the player has in his contract as a release clause, a fee that Chelsea have indicated that they would have paid for the young striker but the player ruled out a move to the Premier League, saying that he wanted to play for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

With the striker set to join the Spanish side next year, speculation over the potential sale of players from the Spanish side are already beginning with fellow Brazilian international Kaka being tipped to be one of the next players to leave the club with Premier League side Chelsea expected to lead the way for the player’s signature.
